The Ridgeway Challenge is an annual 86 mile endurance running event which takes place over a weekend in August. As with previous years we were asked to cover 3 locations. Communications services for the event were organised by the RAYNET-UK chairperson Cathy Clark. Several RAYNET groups worked together to help ensure the safety of over 100 participants over continuous 24 hour period.
We provided the event organisers with timing checkpoints and relayed runner times back to the finish line, where they were then placed on the organiser’s website. This is always a challenging event to support due to the long operating schedule through the night and large amount of data to pass via radio, but as in previous years it was a complete success.
